The problem

The charities you most want to fund are the hardest to find.

Charity data sits across registers, accounts, websites and government statistics. Small charities are told to tell more stories and post more content to get noticed, but the organisations doing the most important work have the least time to market themselves. So funding goes to whoever is most visible.

Fundin flips it around. We find the charities, so they don't have to find you.

✓Charities are in Fundin whether or not they've ever applied for funding or posted online.
✓Search by cause, place and size to find small, local organisations.
✓See what they do, who backs them and how they're doing before you get in touch.

The data

Four layers of data on every charity.

Most charity matching platforms rely on Charity Commission register data alone. We combine four layers of data, so you see the full picture of every charity.

LAYER 1
Public register data
Charity Commission, OSCR, Companies House
Who they are. Status, purpose, trustees and where they work.
LAYER 2
Annual accounts
Charity and funder accounts
How they’re doing. Income, spending and reserves over time, and who funds them.
LAYER 3
Website data
The charity’s own website
What they’re doing now. Live projects, services and the people they help.
LAYER 4
Charity profile
Written by the charity
What they need. Outcomes, plans and what they’re raising money for, in their own words.

Most platforms stop at layer one. Fundin brings all four into a single profile, so you see the whole charity, not just its registration.

PLUS AREA DATA We add data on the places charities work: the Indices of Deprivation for every neighbourhood, and population figures. So you see the need around a charity, not just the charity itself.

Questions

Where does the data come from?

The Charity Commission, OSCR, Companies House, 360Giving, charity websites, government deprivation data, and our own analysis of annual accounts from charities and grantmakers. Charities add to it through their own profiles.

Do I need to replace my grant management system?

No. You can use Fundin to find, check and invite charities alongside the system you have. If you want to replace it, you can run your rounds on Fundin too.

How do eligibility checks work?

Add your criteria once. We check organisations against Charity Commission data, their website and other public information, one at a time, in bulk by CSV, or through our API. Charities applying through Fundin are flagged in real time if they don’t qualify.

How is this different from 360Giving?

360Giving is open grants data published by funders. We include it, and add funding history from annual accounts, charity finances, website data, profiles and local need data, with the tools to act on it.
